Wow look who i met!

There i was minding my own business, singing jingle bells when i was startled by some commotion at the door… To my delight Santa walked in! I know what your thinking- obviously not the real one BUT apparently the chimney was blocked and he ALWAYS comes a day early to Strathaven, Scotland. I was a little sceptical but ill give him the benefit of the doubt seeing as he brought me a present…

Merry Christmas  to y’all and ill hit you up with tonnes of festive news in the New Year. Until then… have fun and eat LOTS!!!

Its only SANTA!!!!!

Im dreaming of a white Christmas! oh wait no need…

My house is so Christmassy!

Dear Mother Nature- This is Scotland not Canada, please get warmer…

You dont need home for xmas right?

Travelling home on friday was always going to be tough with 4 bags and 3 ski bags, but after an enormous excess baggage charge, i made it on to the plane… albeit just! I was kind of late.

After waiting 2 hours on the runway waiting for 1 remaining passenger, we got underway. 30 mins before landing in London Heathrow we found out it had just closed due to a snow storm. We missed landing by 30 mins… all because of 1 selfish woman in Calgary!!

Paris was over run. With 4 Air Canada jumbo jets stranded, we waited 7 hours for a hotel, and then another 3 hours for buses. It turned out i didnt make it to the hotel. Meeting some cool people in the Airport we all bedded down for the night. Well for a couple hours and an hour sleep. Finding out the next day that the airport still wasnt going to open… I rushed with all 200kg of baggage to the local train to make my way to the Eurostar… Lets just say those train journey’s were HELL!!!! But im home and i love it.

So Merry Xmas everybody (oops i got trouble for saying that in America) – happy holidays everyone!

Tough Times in the Rockies

Its fair to say I have a Love/ Hate relationship with Lake Louise. Its one of the most beautiful ski areas i have ever been to, The Fairmont Chateau hotel is exceptional and the race conditions we had there were amazing.

On the flip side, Me and the race hill arent exactly best buds. After a nasty crash on the 1st training and a terrible accident of my team mate in the 3rd training. I wasnt in the best state of mind to race some Downhill. My confidence was crushed, my head was a mess so therefor my performance was terrible. A week on and im still having problems from my crash the 1st day. A visit to the hospital later and im cleared to race. Bone bruising really is a bitch though!

Putting the last few weeks behind me, im starting to rebuild. Baby steps. Iv just arrived in Panorama for the last races before i head home for xmas. Im sensing me and this hill are going to get along just fine.
